Wisconsin’s unemployment falls in January


According to the latest jobs report released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the Badger State added  5,100 nonfarm jobs and 4,700 private jobs in January 2024. The state’s unemployment rate has remained below four percent since July 2021, dipping to 3.2% in January 2024.. 

Construction jobs drove much of this growth, adding 1,900 jobs since December 2023. Despite what forecasters claim, the U.S. economy continues to show signs of strength in 2024.

WI utilities make union jobs a priority for green projects

With the help of federal aid, Wisconsin is catching up to neighboring states in accelerating clean energy construction projects and the Badger State is taking things a step further by giving union workers greater access to these job opportunities.
