Wisconsin set to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Governor Tony Evers (D-Wis) and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced that 53 locations have been designated as the initial federally-funded fast-charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in the state. These installations are supported by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program, part of President Joe Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

In March, Gov. Evers signed a bill  allowing WisDOT to receive and administer $78 million in federal NEVI funds available to Wisconsin to grow the state’s EV infrastructure.

The new charging stations will be along Wisconsin’s Alternative Fuel Corridor, reaching every corner of the state, and support Wisconsin’s 23,000 EVs, as well as travelers and visitors.
