Jobless Rate Declines Across the Milwaukee Metro Area

It was another good month for the Badger State, as the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released the latest local job figures for October. The report revealed a decline in unemployment rates across all 12 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) last month. 

One statistical area is located in the region – the Milwaukee-Waukesha area. There, unemployment fell 0.3 percent to 3.4 percent. That number is trending in the right direction heading toward the new year.

Overall, the state’s cities and counties had a positive month, as unemployment rates declined or went unchanged in all 35 major cities and all 72 counties.

Wisconsin bill would limit local control over animal welfare

A Republican bill would bar local governments from implementing stricter rules than the state already imposes regarding animal welfare, the administration of medications and vaccinations and how animals are used at or after they leave a farm or facility.
